Framework for alcohol policy in the WHO European Region
In 2005 the WHO Regional Committee for Europe endorsed the Framework for alcohol policy in the WHO European Region. It is designed to succeed the regional action plans from 1992-99 and 2000-05.
Thus in the introduction to the document it is pointed out that a new phase of alcohol policy in the Region, should encourage and facilitate the development and implementation of global, regional, national and local community policies and actions to prevent or reduce the harm caused by alcohol.
