Conference on substance use and sustainable development in Africa
The first invitation is now out to the 13th Biennial International Conference on Drugs, alcohol and society in Africa. The conference will be held in Abuja, Nigeria, 19-21 September.
These conferences are organized by CRISA; the Centre for Research and Information on Substance Abuse. The theme for this year’s conference is “Substance use and sustainable development in Africa”.
The sessions will cover a wide variety of sub-themes:
- Substance use patterns and trends
- New psychoactive substances
- Harm to others from drinking
- Alternative livelihoods
- Drugs as a security threat
- Drugs and non-communicable diseases
- Treatment, prevention and harm reduction
- Drugs, women and youth
